Air Downhill

Air Downhill - Download Race Map

A Colorado Freeride Festival classic. The Air Downhill is a test of a rider's ability to charge a flowy, berm-filled, world-class course on Rainmaker, the premier jump trail in the USA.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED – Race is capped at 150 riders.

FREE - Kids Clinic

FREE Intro to racing - Kids Clinic for Green Horn-it!

Have an aspiring young racer? Get them started with the right skills and techniques to give them a better race day experience. This clinic, run by our Trestle Ride School professionals, is designed for beginner/ novice racers that are considering competing in the Green Horn-it! Challenge. After the clinic, the kids can stick around and watch the adults race down this course in the New Belgium Super Downhill prologue.

Maxxis Slopestyle Open

Maxxis Slopestyle Open

On the FMB World Tour, Gold has never been more valuable! Gold events are the last stepping stone for upcoming riders to jump their way into the ultimate FMB Diamond Series, from which the World Champion title is in sights. With the FMB Diamond Series structure, an athletes result from the Maxxis Slopestyle competition can also count towards their overall FMB Diamond Series standing. Not only that, but the highest placed rider in the field will also be awarded a wildcard to what is arguably the most prestigious competition of the season, and the FMB Diamond Series finale, Red Bull Joyride at Crankworx Whistler.

Slopestyle Qualifications: Friday, July 29
Slopestyle Qualifications – The qualification event is an open contest to all competitors, no invitation required. There are NO pre-qualified athletes into the Finals. All athletes must compete for their spot into the Finals.

  • 8-9am: Last chance Maxxis Slopestyle registration packet pick-up
  • 9-10:30am: Warm-up
  • 9:40am: Mandatory riders meeting at bottom of course
  • 11am: Riders to top of course
  • 11:10am: Start
  • 3-5pm: Maxxis Slopestyle Finals Open Training
Qualifications will be a best run of 2 format. The top 16 from qualifications will move into the finals

*Slopestyle Finals: Saturday, July 30
  • 5pm: Maxxis Slopestyle open training
  • 5:45pm: Mandatory riders meeting at Judge's stand
  • 5:45pm: Riders to top of course
  • 6pm: Start
Finals will be a best run of 2 format. The rider's best score of 2 runs will be used to determine final results.

Slopestyle Specific Rules:

  • All athletes are required to attend rider meetings.
  • Helmets are required.
  • Awards presentation will be immediately following Finals, at the bottom of the course.
  • Only licensed FMB World Tour athletes gain ranking points towards the FMB World Tour rankings. Athletes must hold the license BEFORE entering the event to gain ranking points. New Belgium Super Downhill

New Belgium Super Downhill Prologue

We are throwing in a fun way to get warmed up for the racing weekend, while not taking things too seriously. This spectator-friendly race will use Trestle’s trail Green Horn-it! This prologue will be the basis for seeding the start of the Super Downhill racers. Fastest racers in the prologue will start first the following day. These start positions could make the difference in the final standings. The Winner of each category of the Prologue will win a set of 2 Maxxis Tires!

With the popularity of Enduro racing, Super Downhill has been overshadowed, but the Colorado Freeride Festival is bringing back this heart-pounding test of skill and endurance! Think of this race as a single stage enduro and pick your bike/suspension/wheel-set that you feel will get you from the top of Trestle Bike Park to its base the fastest. We will throw in as many trail types as possible to keep things interesting. Fitness and gravity riding technique will win this race.

Green Horn-it! Challenge

Green Horn-it! Challenge

We are serious about offering racing for all ability levels and igniting a passion in kids for the sport we love. Check out junior racers and cheer them on to fame! This race, which is held on Trestle’s brand-new kids trail Green Horn-it!, is geared for beginner/novice racers and is a great way to initiate them into the fun and excitement of mountain bike racing. Whether it be on a balance bike, 16”, 18”, 20”, 24”, or 26” wheel, let the children race! This race does not require a lift ticket as it is accessed via the Village Cabriolet.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED – Race is capped at 150 riders.

We built a permanent pump track that is begging for a race! This non-pro category event will let the riders showcase their bike handling skills and speed. Located at the bottom of Green Horn-it! and under the Village Cabriolet, this event is fun for riders and spectators alike!

Epic Singletrack XC

Colorado Epic Singletrack Cross Country

The Epic Singletrack Series is proud to be a part of the Colorado Freeride Festival.

The X Country race takes place Saturday, July 30th. Pre-Registration is strongly recommended.

The 2016 season of the Epic Singletrack Series, marks the 24th year of epic cross country racing hosted by the Winter Park Competition Center! The Epic Singletrack Series is proud to be the largest cross-country race series in Colorado, bringing you exciting race courses over the 600+ miles of single track in the Winter Park/Fraser Valley, also known as Mountain Bike Capital USA™.

We've hosted the best riders from around the country, including members of the US Cycling Team. While we are honored to have hosted such high profile riders we’re also proud to be a welcoming and fun race series for those wishing to try mountain bike racing for the first time. No memberships are required. Choose from our multiple categories, and our staggered start waves keep you spread out on the course and focused on the competition in your age class and category.

As a part of the Series this year we have added a Junior Series for kids 14 & under with a shortened course.

In its sixth year, this has quickly become a rider and spectator favorite. Athletes get one (1) attempt to cross a narrow track floating across the village pond. If you make it across you make it to the finals with one more shot to improve your time.

Monster Energy® Downhill Colorado State Championships

Let’s race downhill! This USA Cycling (USAC) sanctioned race will determine the fastest racer in the festival and the State of Colorado. This race will showcase some of the nation’s fastest, fittest, and most technical mountain bike athletes battling it for the fastest time. Spectators can watch from the start of courses, on-course, or at the finish in the Festivillage.
